This collection provides unmatched full-text coverage of information relevant to many areas integral to the energy and power industries, encompassing all component industries within, including those focused on coal, electric power, natural gas, nuclear power, petroleum, renewable energy (including hydroelectric power, wind power, solar power, alternative fuels, etc.). Encyclopædia Britannica Online includes the complete encyclopedia, as well as Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus, Britannica Student Encyclopedia and the Britannica Book of the Year. The collection includes more than 118,000 articles, updated and revised by Encyclopædia Britannica editors and contributors; over 14,000 illustrations, including photographs, drawings, maps, and flags; and more than 215,000 entries--including definitions, pronunciation guides, and word histories--from Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus.

eHRAF World Cultures

eHRAF World Cultures contains ethnographic collections covering all aspects of cultural and social life. eHRAF is unique in having subject indexing at the paragraph level. This allows detailed and precise searching for concepts not easily found with keywords.  eHRAF is produced by the Human Relations Area Files, Inc. (HRAF) at Yale University. The mission of HRAF, a non-profit consortium of universities and colleges, is to encourage and facilitate worldwide and other comparative studies of human behavior, society, and culture.

Educator's Reference Complete (Gale OneFile)

Educator's Reference Complete provides access to academic journals, reports, and many premier reference sources in the field of education. The database includes content in key subject areas including administration, bilingual education, child development and psychology, funding, health education, technology, and testing. The majority of the full-text titles included are also found in the ERIC database.

Education Source (EBSCO)

EducationSource covers scholarly research and information to meet the needs of education students, professionals, and policy makers. This massive file offers the world's largest and most complete collection of full-text education journals, and encompasses an international array of English-language periodicals, monographs, yearbooks, and more.  This database is provided by the SUNYConnect Electronic Library initiative.

Economics and Theory (Gale OneFile)

The Business, Economics, and Theory Collection provides access to academic journals and magazines focusing on topics in economics and related fields. The database has an emphasis on titles indexed in the American Economic Association's EconLit bibliography.

Credo Reference

Credo Reference is a general database that contains nearly 600 reference books on a wide variety of subjects.  Credo also connects you to other sources in the JCC Libraries' collections including books owned by JCC Libraries, journal articles, reports and more.  Many subjects in Credo have Topic Pages—a resource page devoted to that one topic with lots of links to sources.  The Mind Map in Credo is a great way to narrow or expand your topic.

CQ Researcher

CQ Researcher provides easy access to in-depth, non-biased coverage of political and social issues, with regular reports on topics in health, international affairs, education, the environment, technology and the U.S. economy. Each CQ Researcher article can be read in its entirety or by section.  Included in each article is a background and chronology; an assessment of the current situation; tables and maps; pro/con statements from representatives of opposing positions; and bibliographies of key sources. CQ Researcher offers enhanced search and browse functionality, enabling quick access to relevant reports. New reports continue to become available online the day before they are published in print and the online backfile extends to 1991.

CountryWatch

CountryWatch provides up-to-date news and information on the nearly 200 countries of the world. The database includes country maps and flags, current news headlines, and country-specific data about population, climate, language, currency, religion, etc.  Historical and forecast data is also included.  The CountryWatch Data feature makes it easy to compare/contrast data between countries and/or between years.
