Banned Books Week is coming!

Celebrate your freedom to read by joining us for READ OUT! in the Hultquist Library Pit, Friday, September 30 at noon!

What do Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, Color Purple by Alice Walker, Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers, and The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big, Round Things, by Carolyn Mackler have in common? All have been banned or challenged somewhere in the U.S. at some point in the past six years, but not in the JCC Libraries!

Poetry Slam Scheduled

Libraries aren’t always quiet and serious places for study.  Sometimes we break the rules and bring on the noise and excitement.  On March 9, 2011 we’ll be holding our first Poetry Slam in the Hultquist Library Pit.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Join the J-Dub Book Club today (Tuesday, March 2) at 12 noon in the Hultquist Library Pit to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday!

Members of the book club will be reading from their favorite Dr. Seuss books.  If you have a favorite, feel free to pick up a book and join in - or just sit back and listen!
