Law Enforcement Technology (Certificate)

Earn your certificate while at the Sheriff’s Academy

As a part of the rigorous Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Academy program, you can earn 45 college credits. At Jamestown Community College, these credits can be applied to a Law Enforcement Technology certificate. You can complete both the academy and certificate program at the same time and confidently take the next step toward your career goals in law enforcement.

Studying law enforcement opens opportunities such as police officers, detectives, dispatchers, federal agents, crime scene investigators, and forensic scientists. You’ll work on the front lines, focusing on law application and due process, as well as the role of evidence, defense tactics, and emergency medical technology.

The certificate in Law Enforcement prepares you to enter the workforce and apply for a position in a police agency or other law enforcement role. You can earn your NYS Certified Basic Police Training Course certificate at the same time as the Law Enforcement Technology certificate.
