J. J. Bilinski joined Jamestown Community College as an assistant soccer coach in 2009. A 2006 graduate of JCC, he was a member of the first JCC men's soccer team to compete in Region III Division III playoffs (2004). He continued his soccer career at Medaille College, where he was named to both the scholar all-region and all-conference teams. Bilinski became a semi-professional soccer player after graduating from Medaille in 2008. He was a starting goalkeeper for the Fort Wayne Fever Team, which competes in the USL Premier Development League. His high school career at Panama Central School included four years on the boys' varsity soccer team. He set a Section VI record for most career shutouts in 2003 and was named to the all-league first team and the all-western New York small school team several times.
