Student Success Seminar - Fall, 2000
An Introduction to Computing Technology at Jamestown Community College

Good Work!

Congratulations! You have already mastered three important skills:

  1. logging on to the JCC Student Network
  2. launching a web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape)
  3. entering a url address

You should have the following handouts.

  • JCC Student Computer Network Log In/Off Procedure
  • How Do I? Get a Computer Account - includes a listing of open computer labs and hours
  • How Do I? Use Internet Explorer 5.0 and/or How Do I? Use Netscape 4.6

These basic handouts, available in all JCC open labs, document the "how to"s of what you just did and provide more information on using JCC's computing resources and software.

This is a self-paced lab class. The objectives are to:
  (1) introduce you to the computing resources available to JCC students
  (2) outline your responsibilities related to the privilege of using those resources, and
  (3) give you some hands-on practice with using the world wide web and email.

We want you to enjoy our facilities and also to become a responsible computer user and "netizen" - a citizen of cyberspace.
