| The Arts at Jamestown Community
College are characterized by a climate of informal interaction between faculty
and students creating a working and learning environment which encourages growth
and change, while maintaining high academic standards. You don't have to be an
art "major" to be involved in art at JCC. We understand that people
come to the visual arts by way of many roads, as both producers and consumers.
These diverse backgrounds, goals, and ages are a positive influence in classes,
and this mix adds vigor to the student life. We offer an introduction to the world
of art to those who desire a career in visual art and design. JCC graduates may
transfer to art schools and four-year-colleges and universities. | Weeks
Gallery is a substantial resource for both the college
and the community. The gallery's exhibitions
and programs are integral academic activities for art students. We appreciate
and support the concept that education must extend beyond the classroom and the
studio. Discover studying, working and creating in an environment offering students some of the best equipped studio facilities in western New York. Artworks, our studio complex, is also a gathering place for many students, artists, and others who enjoy the unique qualities of the space and people. |
