Requirements: 
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to critically think and independently problem solve
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of and ability to navigate social media platforms
  • Experience in the Performing and Visual Arts and knowledge of basic accounting principles a plus, but not required
Responsibilities: 
  • Customer service: greeting visitors at front desk and on the phone, directing them to answers and solutions
  • School of Music assistance; working with manager of Chautauqua Schools of Performing and Visual Arts and artistic director of the School of Music
  • Accounting tasks, including vouchering payments and budget entry
  • Social media support for the vice president of Performing and Visual Arts and staff, including tracking artist followers on Bandsintown, Spotify, Pandora, and Facebook
  • Media research, specifically on Facebook and Spotify

Skills and knowledge to be gained during the internship:

  • Gain experience with the thought and organizational processes behind an internationally renowned performing and visual arts organization
  • Gain an understanding of the workings of a large scale non-profit organization
  • Develop practical application skills regarding budgeting and accounting
Hours per Week: 
10-15 hours/week

Between 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday
