Beacon Light Behavioral Health Systems is seeking an intern to assist them with their mental health services. The work environment and characteristics described here are representative of those that an individual would encounter in any job, and intern can expect to develop skills for the workplace.


Applicant will speak effectively on the telephone and have proficient computer skills. Applicant will apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, as well as deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Applicant will be frequently required to stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  Applicant must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.


Intern will file all agency information for active and discharge clinical records and purge patient records from permanent filing system on a periodic basis as requested. Intern is expected to complete assignments independently and within expected time frames, and is able to adjust to increased workload. Additional responsibilities include retrieving, copying, and/or faxing patient records requested by our medical staff offices and or patient requests; performing visionary scans on permanent filing system on a regular basis for misfiled patient records to ensure accurate filing; assembling medical records; and scanning of charts for final storage. Intern will perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned or requested by supervisor in a helpful and cooperative manner.
