Job Description: 

Peek'n Peak Resort, known for its snow sports, golf, adventure park, spa services, and events, seeks a human resources intern for the fall. The Human Resources Intern will observe departmental functions and perform duties relative to recruitment/onboarding, employee relations, payroll, company policies/procedures, labor law, workers' compensation, and unemployment.


Applicant should be able to:

  • Maintain strict confidentiality concerning company and associate information.
  • Demonstrate technical skills to operate a computer, learn HRIS systems, and compile/present information using Microsoft Suite. 
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of transactions in a fast paced environment while handling multiple priorities with a high degree of professionalism.  
  • Use independent judgment to make sound decisions that conform to policies while resolving as unique situations occur in the absence of direct supervision. 
  • Function in a team environment with a positive attitude to fully cooperate with management and other associates to ensure successful operation of facility.

*Must be able to sit, stand, walk and reach for extended periods of time. Must be able to periodically lift up to 50 pounds to transport recruitment materials, office supplies, or files.


Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Interact with associates and company leaders at all levels while demonstrating professional behavior that aligns with human resources policies and the Scott Enterprises mission statement. 
  • Maintain working knowledge of resort policies regarding employment, payroll, code of conduct, communication, safety, security, benefits, and other general information. 
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of federal/state labor laws and gain practical experience with monitoring compliance for a large population working in various areas of operation. 
  • Answer associate questions, find resolutions to concerns, and solicit feedback.
  • Responsible for active participation in full cycle onboarding of 650+ seasonal associates. Assist human resources team with recruitment activities, such as: online job posting, paid advertising, social media, electronic communication, job fairs, phone screening, and scheduling interviews.   
  • Collaborate with resort departments to meet common goals, such as:  hiring, onboarding, training, performance, recognition, and progressive discipline. 
  • Operate Ceridian HRIS system (including Self-Service, Time Solutions, and HPL) to perform accurate data entry, monitor records, and run reports.  
  • Complete data entry, scanning, and filing of confidential human resources records as required.
  • Check e-mail and voicemail daily and use proper telephone etiquette to assist callers, take messages, or refer inquiries to the appropriate department.
  • Complete NSAA Wage & Salary Survey, which provides the resort industry with comparative wage data based on: location, lift capacity, skier visits, and number of employees.
  • Work with human resources and safety assistant to complete OSHA reporting for workers' compensation, including: collection of outstanding documents, claim tracking, and reporting of work related injuries.
  • Expand employee recognition programs and communicate resort privileges/internal activities on an event calendar.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Days/Hours Intern is Needed: 

The human resources department at Peek'n Peak Resort is flexible in determining a work schedule based on hour requirements for the internship.  However, intern must commit to some evenings/ weekends and be willing to flex up or down in scheduled work hours (based on business need).
