Job Description: 

One intern sought per semester.  Intern: selects, develops, and supervises paid staff and volunteers with supervision of Activities Director; plans, organizes and directs a program of activities for residents in order to provide entertainment, inter-communication, exercise, relaxation, and an opportunity to express talent and fulfill psychological, social and spiritual needs; monitors the implementation of planned activities through both formal and informal contact with staff; maintains a record of residents’ activities and track attendance at activities; prepares a monthly calendar of events one-month in advance of all scheduled activities, post for resident access, and forward them to appropriate department heads; arranges for resident participation, when appropriate, in community-based and community-sponsored activities; requisitions supplies needed for activities; arranges for the provision of programs and activities within the facility by family volunteers, community groups and services providers; encourages communication and interaction between residents by planning group activities such as parties, games, scheduling movies, and outings (shopping); directs exercise and fitness class; presents instruction for exercise equipment; provides exercise and fitness training program with guidance of certified fitness trainer.


Knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access preferred; familiarity with PC's preferred; must have own transportation.  Prefer student studying health administration or sports medicine.  GPA desired: 2.5-4.0.
