Job Description: 

ACCORD Corporation seeks an intern to assist with developing and delivering early childhood services to children and families. Intern will gain practical experience developing and implementing lesson plans, documenting observations, coordinating of special activities and events, and creating special projects and outreach events.

Requirements: 
  • Understanding of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practice
  • Pleasant demeanor and ability to interact with a variety of people
  • Demonstrated interest in serving the community and assisting the agency in meeting their mission
  • Agreement with and ability to protect confidentiality and the agency code of conduct
Responsibilities: 

Interns will:

  • Assist staff in delivering early childhood services to children and families by developing and implementing lesson plans, documenting observations of children and their accomplishments, preparing the physical space, and supporting staff
  • Coordinate child and family activities and events to promote parent engagement in the program
  • Work on special projects and participate in outreach events
  • Promote positive agency image and credibility by adhering to a professional code of ethics
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending trainings, workshops, and conferences as appropriate
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related job results as needed
