Job Description: 

Chautauqua Institution’s Marketing and Communications Office is looking to hire a digital communication intern for the winter/spring of 2014. Intern can expect to gain knowledge in web design, HTML, CSS, and PHP coding, project management experience, and social media strategy.

Requirements: 

Candidates should have a friendly, outgoing personality and be willing to facilitate conversations with community members. Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communications skills with impeccable grammar and have previous experience working in HTML, CSS and PHP based content management systems such as Joomla or WordPress. Familiarity with Chautauqua Institution, video editing experience and knowledge of Adobe programs is a plus. Students in their second year of studying web design and development, English, marketing, or communications are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities: 

Working with the Digital Communications Manager, the intern will be responsible for creating and managing content for Chautauqua Institution’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Google+. Intern will assist in developing a dynamic mobile version of Chautauqua’s website and calendar using HTML and CSS. Intern will also assist in developing and adding Search Engine Optimized dynamic content to our websites using our content management system and in some cases HTML and CSS.
