Job Description: 

Jamestown Community College is currently seeking a Campus Life intern to assist with a variety of orientation and semester projects. Intern will be able to put student leadership development theory into practice and advise student organizations and student leaders. Intern will also develop skills in marketing, public speaking/communication, event planning, and financial management.

Requirements: 

Applicant is preferred to be a graduate student in a closely related field, or an undergraduate junior or senior who is looking into pursuing a graduate degree in student affairs or related field. Applicant must also have their own transportation, be a self-starter, be comfortable with public speaking, and be familiar with social media.

Responsibilities: 

Intern will assist with summer orientation and semester projects.

Summer Orientation:

  • Assist the director of Campus Life with new student orientation planning and marketing
  • Assist the director of Campus Life with peer mentor orientation leader training
  • Assist with Orientation, Advisement, and Registration (OAR) days
  • As available, attend applicable summer college committee and working group meetings

Semester Projects (September-December or January-May):

  • Assist with research and assessment projects related to campus life
  • Assist with fall or spring event planning and logistics
  • Assist with advising Campus Activities Board and Student Senate
  • Assist with Student Development division initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
