Coordinator of the Scharmann Theatre

I have been the coordinator of theatre at JCC since the fall of 1996. My education in theatre originally began at JCC, and I graduated from the speech and theatre program here in 1972. I hold a degree in theatre arts from SUNY Fredonia, and I also attended SUNY Oswego, SUNY Brockport, and UCLA, as well as at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in Los Angeles, California. While on the west coast, I served as the head writer and a performer in the comedy troupe “The Cream O’ Wits.” I was featured in a couple of small student films at USC, and worked at the American Film Institute as the second assistant director on an independent film. Since returning to the Jamestown area in 1979, I have directed in Fredonia, NY, Warren, PA, and various other places throughout the Chautauqua County area. I became a member of Alpha Psi Omega, a theater honors fraternity, in 1992. I won JCC’s President’s Award for Excellence in 2002.
