"Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right." - Henry Ford
Instructor, OTA

As a graduate of this institution, I understand the value and prestige of a JCC education. I am a first generation college graduate and my degree and training at JCC laid the foundation for me to continue achieving higher level learning. I believe that all students are unique and have diverse experiences that they can bring into the classroom. I assist my students in both personal and professional development through the use of various teaching strategies including classroom flipping, group work, and hands-on clinical experiences. I present a curriculum that incorporates content that is relevant to the students' lives. Every class is their own unique community, and my role as the teacher is to assist with the development of those communities. This includes understanding learning styles and personality types in order to intentionally manage the learning environment.

Before joining JCC I worked in the travel therapy field, which enabled me to practice occupational therapy in many different settings, including pediatrics, outpatient, and home care. I learned from a very diverse group of clinicians who were also travelers from across the United States and from countries as far as the Philippines, Spain, and India. After travel therapy I specialized in the recovery of shoulder and hand injuries while working under the direction of an orthopedic hand surgeon.

I am a certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner and I hold licenses to practice in the states of New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas. I stay current in the field by providing direct patient care at a skilled nursing facility located in Erie, PA. I have a strong passion for research; I develop and teach national continuing education courses based on my interests and current trends in health care. I am also a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). In my free time I enjoy spending time with my seven younger siblings and taking my son, Julian, on a weekend trip to a Cavaliers game!
