Adjunct Professor, Education

My name is Kelli Spink and I live in East Otto, NY (farm country). I have been teaching at Cattaraugus-Little Valley for 15 years. I have taught 2nd grade, Pre-K, and kindergarten.  I always approach my classroom like I would want my own children to be taught.

I am a mother of three wonderful children. We enjoy adventures such as traveling to new places and also visiting family members. They are a true delight and it has been an amazing journey watching them grow into their own person.

I am currently teaching two classes at JCC as an adjunct professor. I am also a student myself as I am taking classes online through Grand Canyon University to obtain a master's in administration. I am not sure which path I would like to take, but I like knowing that I will have options in a leadership role.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking a lot! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I always love trying to make new things. I enjoy bike riding as well especially during the fall weather. Lastly, traveling with my friends and family has been such an important part of my life. Creating memories and experiences with laughter and fun is something I will always strive for.

  • What do you do at JCC? Currently I am teaching an online course, Literacy in the Classroom. I also teaching a hybrid course with a home base at the North County Center called The Exceptional Child.
  • What is your favorite aspect of your job? I love being able to guide and support future teachers. I have been an elementary classroom teacher for 15 years and I love that I can share my expertise.
  • What message would you like to share? For current students, I would share that you should find your passion, find what makes you happy, and seek guidance and support along with the way. For future students, I would like to share that you should always work hard and strive to reach your goals and full potential. Do not be afraid to ask for help and always remain positive.
  • What are your passions? I enjoy cooking and sharing with people that surround me. I also love reading (anything really). I love teaching children and adults, and I find satisfaction in helping any student reach their full potential. Additionally, I enjoy riding my bike and always finding new and interesting bike courses to try.
