My background is in mental health counseling. As a counselor at JCC’s North County Center in Dunkirk, I sometimes help students with personal issues. However, mostly I do academic counseling. I help students to decide on a program of study, to select their courses, and to stay on track toward their goals.
I am the advisor to the Latino Outreach Club and the Peer Mentor program at the Dunkirk site.
I live in Fredonia with my wife, Kathleen Magiera, an education professor at SUNY Fredonia. I’m involved at St. Joseph Church and belong to a writing group.
