My name Is Jacob Steinhoff and I'm currently the residence director of Hillside Suites South at Jamestown Community College on the Jamestown Campus, as well as the coordinator of events and sports information for JCC athletics. I was a student at JCC back when the current locations of the residence halls were nothing more than a hill for people to go sledding on in the winter. After obtaining my associate's degree in liberal arts & sciences: social science, I transferred to the State University of New York at Fredonia to complete my bachelor's degree in history, also obtaining a minor in American Indian studies for the first time in the college's history. I then obtained my master's degree in physical education from SUNY Brockport.
During my time as a student at JCC, I was able to meet a variety of different people. The staff at JCC is unique in that everyone cares. While obtaining my master's degree, I did an internship at JCC. Here, I got to discover that many of the professors and staff that were here when I was a student, were here to help me yet again. When hired as a residence director a few years later, many of these same people helped me on the professional level as well. Having been a member of the JCC residence life staff since the beginning, I take great pride in trying to make each year better than the last. I love nothing more than a new program that the residents truly enjoy. I am very passionate about finding programming ideas that will reach everyone, as I believe when a student leaves the college, they should feel like a part of the residence life family, not just a resident. Please feel free to stop by my office in the South building.
