Director, Occupational Therapy Assistant Program; Associate Professor, Occupational Therapy

I have been an occupational therapist since 1991, and have worked in a variety of health-care settings including in-patient rehabilitation, school systems, early intervention, and in-home health. I came to Jamestown Community College in 2000, but have continued clinical practice since joining the college. I strongly believe that to be a good teacher I need to continue to be in the practice environment.

I have taught a variety of courses, most often in the areas of pediatrics and intervention courses. I love teaching and believe that using authentic learning environments is the most effective way for students to learn. In my classes, students are often out in the community learning their communication and clinical skill sets! It is motivating and extremely exciting for both myself and the students to have them successfully treat patients so early on in their education.
