Associate Professor of Sport Management/Physical Education

Dr. Dennis A. Johnson is an associate professor in sport management/physical education and is working to develop the sport management curriculum at Jamestown Community College. A former public school physical education teacher and wrestling coach in the Warren County (PA) system, Dr. Johnson has spent the past 16 years working in the School of Sport Sciences at Wingate University (NC). He served as a physical education/sport management instructor, department chair, and head cross country coach.

Dr. Johnson reviews manuscripts for The Physical Educator and the Journal of Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, and serves as a program reviewer for the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation. He also works with the Institute for the Study of Youth Sport at Michigan State University to deliver the Leadership Academy NCAA collegiate wrestling coaches for the National Wrestling Coaches Association. He is also president-elect for the North Carolina Alliance for Athletics, Health, Physical Education, and Dance-Sport Management (NCAAHPERD-SM).
