I am the director of the Jamestown Community College Choir. I also am the head of the organ department at SUNY Fredonia and serve as the minister of music and worship arts at Zion Covenant Church in Jamestown. I direct the Living Christmas Tree presentation at the Jamestown First Covenant Church, and I serve as a sub-dean of the Chautauqua chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
I previously was the organist-choirmaster of the Jamestown First Lutheran Church for 31 years, where my choir performed in a concert tour of Sweden, Norway, and Denmark in 1982. I have retired from a 34 year teaching career, of which the last 21 years I served as the director of choral activities at Jamestown High School. My a cappella choir became known as the "choir of cathedrals," and we sang throughout the United States, Canada, England, Austria, Germany, and Italy. I recently retired from being director of the Jamestown Choral Society.
I am married to the former Sandra Kae Nelson, and we have three grown children and two grandchildren.
