Classical pianist James Welch will perform a solo recital at 7 p.m. on November 16 in JCC’s Scharmann Theatre.

The recital, free and open to the public, is sponsored by JCC’s music department, college programming committee, Faculty Student Association, and the arts, humanities, and health sciences division.

Welch is a collaborative pianist and class piano instructor in the State University of New York at Fredonia music program.

Welch has also worked for the Interlochen Summer Arts Camp and the New York State Summer School of the Arts Choral Program as a collaborative pianist for instrumentalists and vocalists on repertoire including art song, opera, musical theater, choral, jazz, pop, and instrumental. 

After earning a bachelor’s degree and performer’s certificate at SUNY Fredonia, Welch earned a master’s degree at East Carolina University.
