Dana Shelters has been the women's soccer coach at JCC since 2007. Shelters and the Jayhawk women's soccer program have become perennial contenders for the post season, and the Jayhawks have placed numerous players on first or second teams in the WNYAC Conference. Players have continued their soccer careers at colleges such as Winthrop, Medaille, and Youngstown State, as well as returning to JCC as assistant coaches.
With over 25 years of experience, Shelters holds national coaching licenses from U.S. Soccer and the National College Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). He has been actively involved in soccer coaching in the area for many years, which includes his time as the head coach of the Randolph Central School's boys' soccer team. He also coached travel and summer league teams, as well as an under-17 team for young women from Randolph, Falconer, Frewsburg, and Salamanca.
Shelters currently coaches travel teams for SC United soccer club while serving as president of the Southern Tier Travel Soccer League (www.STTSL.org). He attended St. Bonaventure University and works at SKF Aeroengine in Falconer. He resides in Randolph with wife Dawn and daughters DeAnn and Danelle.
