Students will learn Spanish language vocabulary and structure to include the present-tense and basic sentence syntax by completing a series of activities designed for realistic communication, both written and spoken. Through reading, dialogue, writing and associated study, students develop an understanding of the language and cultural distinctions of Spanish speakers worldwide. Eligibility: ENG 1510. Intermed Healthcare Spanish I — 3878
SPA 8515 – 3 credits

Students will communicate in written and spoken Spanish using specialized health care terminology. They will discuss and explore cultural considerations related to serving the Spanish-speaking community. Students will participate in role-play scenarios, which prepare them to communicate in a culturally appropriate manner. This course is designed for first or second-generation Spanish speakers in the U.S. Corerequisite: SPA 2510 or must demonstrate intermediate level of higher ability to speak Spanish.
