What is an internship?An internship is typically a three-credit college course that involves the student completing work directly related to the student’s career interests at a sponsoring organization. This credit is contingent on fulfilling time requirements that include, but are not limited to, time spent at the sponsoring organization, seminars, and the development of projects for the sponsoring employer that are directly related to the internship experience. Most internships require 135 hours spent at the sponsoring organization. Eligibility requirementsInternships are intended for full-time sophomores who have at least a 2.0 quality point average. Second semester freshmen and part-time students will be able to participate in an internship with special permissi on of the faculty sponsor.
