Financial Assistance Opportunities
for Summer 2008 Students
Grant (Gift) Aid
Federal PELL Grants
Students who enrolled at JCC less than full-time during the fall and/or spring semesters may have remaining PELL Grant eligibility for summer coursework. Students must be in good academic standing and enroll in a minimum of 3 credit hours to receive any remaining PELL Grant funds for summer study. Students should check with their campus financial aid office to confirm their eligibility.
JCC students who enrolled full-time for both the fall and spring semesters and who have already received 100 % of their annual federal PELL Grant can use some of their spring financial aid “refund” to pay for summer courses.
PEP Grant
For high school juniors and seniors (including those graduating in June 2008). The PEP grant pays ˝ the tuition for summer courses, up to a maximum award of $300. Funds are available on a limited, first-come-first-served basis to eligible students. Funds are available on a limited, first-come, first-served basis to eligible students.

First Class Plus Award
For first-time, part-time matriculated Pennsylvania residents. This grant pays ˝ the tuition for summer courses, up to a maximum award of $500. Payment Plan
JCC offers an automated monthly payment plan. Details are available from our campus business offices.
Student loans
A federal student loan may be an appropriate option for some students to consider. Student loans must be repaid; however, the federal program is designed to assist students by providing low or no-interest loans and allowing for postponement of repayment until after graduation. Students should check with their campus financial aid office to review this option and confirm their eligibility.

Are you currently attending a college other than JCC?
If you are currently enrolled at a different college, you are not eligible for financial aid through JCC. However, you may have eligibility for summer funding from your home college for JCC summer courses through a financial aid consortium agreement. Contact your home college financial aid office for information regarding your eligibility.
