Manufacturing Mayhem

Program Objective: Generate interest in and understanding of manufacturing. Recruit students into manufacturing technology training programs and careers. Have local talent work side by side with students from the area on projects. Highlight local manufacturing and local manufacturing talent.

Program Theme: Manufacturing Mayhem is a local based television show that will draw talent from local manufacturing facilities and create two teams of contestants who will manufacture a product in a competitive format.

Project Duration: The program airs week nights from 9:00pm to 10:00pm on Time Warner Channel 8. MTI is actively seeking to distribute the program to other TV broadcast outlets.

The Team Project
Each team will have 16 hours to complete a defined manufactured project over a two day period. The project will require engineering, drafting and manufacturing processes including welding, press brake operation and machining.

The Team: Two teams will compete in the program (a blue team and a green team) The two teams will consist of the following participant categories:

• Foreman (In Charge of Manufacturing)
• Engineer (In Charge of Design of Product)
• Welder
• Press Brake Operator
• Machinist
• High School Student

Advertising: Advertising during the airing of Manufacturing Mayhem will include advertising that focuses upon MTI-JCC-MAJA services and program sponsors. Sponsors will be recognized throughout the program in advertising in the background and through pop up advertising.

The Manufacturing Technology Institute and the Manufacturers Association will host an open house on August 19th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Manufacturing Technology Institute. The first 200 people to attend the open house will receive free tickets to that nights Jammer’s game.

The open house will consist of a tour of MTI, local manufactured product displays, machine demonstrations, a presentation on the future of manufacturing and recent Manufacturing Mayhem projects will be available for viewing. Come join the fun, bring your employees and bring your family for this event.
