What is the Manufacturing Technology Institute?

  • MTI is a partnership of the Manufacturers Association of the Jamestown Area and Jamestown Community College whose mission is to provide services to businesses in the region in the form of hands-on manufacturing technical training as well as technology assistance.
  • The primary goal of MTI is to provide high quality education and training aimed at improving the skills of the manufacturing workforce and to offer technical assistance to manufacturing businesses.

What services does MTI offer?

  • Pre-hire training to prepare workers for manufacturing jobs or upgrade the skills of incumbent workers. MTI has developed a new program through the guidance and support of local industry titled Manufacturing Basics designed to train basic technical skills as well as soft skills to individuals interested ina career in Manufacturing Technology.
  • Basic and Advanced training in machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication and maintenance.
  • Customized training designed to meet the needs of a specific business or business sector.
  • Technical assistance for improvement of manufacturing processes.
  • Assistance in securing grant funding.

  • MTI is located at 512 Falconer Street in Jamestown, NY. MTI programs are available at this location or at other sites as needed.

  • MTI serves Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties in southwestern New York as well as counties in Northwestern Pennsylvania.
