Libraries

Students in Library Photo Jamestown Community College has full-service libraries at each of its two campuses as well as a growing electronic library available for both campuses and the college's two extension sites.

The Hultquist Library, on the Jamestown Campus, maintains a collection of 55,000 books, over 500 periodical titles, and more than 2,000 audio-visual titles.

The Cattaraugus Campus Library's collection includes more than 18,000 books and audio-visual titles and over 200 periodical titles.

Both campus libraries maintain state-of-the-art classrooms that are regularly used for general library instruction and more advanced course-specific research instruction.

In 2003, the JCC Libraries unveiled a new library management system as part of the statewide SUNYConnect initiative. This new system includes a web-based online catalog that can be accessed from any Internet-connected computer.

In addition to the new automated system, the JCC Libraries provide online access to over two-dozen databases. This online collection provides access to over 5,000 full-text periodicals as well as thousands of full-text books and multimedia resources.

The electronic library at the North County Extension Center (NCEC) in Dunkirk as well as the computer labs at the Warren Extension Center in Warren, PA give students at these sites access to the same online resources available to individuals attending the Jamestown and Cattaraugus Campuses. In addition, students at NCEC have use of SUNY Fredonia's Reed Library. Students at the Warren Extension Center have use of the Warren Public Library's resources for research purposes.
