Full-Time Degree Seeking Student
A student who wishes to enroll in courses on a full-time basis must complete the application process and be accepted into a degree or certificate program. A new full-time student is required to take the placement test. Contact the Counseling and Career Development Center at the Jamestown Campus 716/338-1007 or the Cattaraugus Campus Counseling Center (716)376-7022, ext. 5520 to schedule a day and time to take this test. Certain students may qualify for an exemption from taking the placement test. A new full-time student will attend an Individual Student Advisement (ISA) session and then meet with an academic advisor to schedule and register for courses.

Part-Time Degree Seeking Student
A student who wishes to enroll in a course(s) on a part-time, degree seeking basis needs to complete the application process and be accepted into a degree or certificate program. Once accepted, the student can see a counselor at the Jamestown or Cattaraugus Campus Counseling Centers if needed, to prepare a course schedule for the semester, or complete the registration forms in the back of the master schedule. The student can go directly to the registrar's office at Jamestown or the business office at the Cattaraugus Campus to register for a course(s). The placement test applies here as it does for the full-time student.

Part-Time Nondegree Seeking Student
A student who wishes to enroll in a course(s) on a part-time basis, not seeking a degree or needing financial aid, can register for a course(s) using the registration forms in the back of the master schedule, or by going directly to the registrar's office in Jamestown or the business office at the Cattaraugus Campus or the main office at NCEC and Warren. The schedule of courses available each semester is also available in the registrar's office. Part-time students must take the placement test prior to enrolling in any course which has a reading or writing prerequisite. Certain students may qualify for an exemption from taking the placement test.

Enrollment Verification
The Jamestown Community College Registrar's Office has entered into an agreement with The National Student Clearinghouse to provide JCC students with enrollment verification certificates for transfer, insurance, work, legal, and other purposes. JCC students now have the capability to request and print out, at no charge, their own enrollment verification certificates through our Banner System. Students would then need to mail the certificate to the organization or agency requesting verification of their enrollment at JCC.
