Computer Science Academic Integity
The Computer Science faculty condemn any form
of academic dishonesty. Improperly representing another
person's work as your own (or allowing someone else to
represent your work as his/her own) is construed as an act of
academic dishonesty.
Examples of academic dishonesty may be found
in the Constitution of the Student Body. Further examples
include but are not limited
to:
-
Copying all
or part of a Web Page without using quotation
marks
-
Obtaining a
copy of another student's computer program, making
modifications to variable names and submitting the program
as your own
-
Not citing
sources (including web pages) or falsifying
sources
-
Purchasing
a paper from another student or web paper
mill
-
Obtaining a
copy of an exam prior to the exam being
given
-
Working
with other students on a project that is not deemed a group
project.
After appropriate review, if it has been
determined that a student has been engaged in academic
dishonesty, the student will receive at a minimum the penalty
stated on the syllabus for that course.
Students are encouraged to review the
following web sites, which provide examples of plagiarism and
