One way to strengthen community ties is to share stories. This Community Arts Project, which combines personal narrative and everyday object, focuses attention on women who have been important in our lives. The project offers us an opportunity to take a break from our "hyperactive culture" and to think about what is extraordinary about our everyday, ordinary existence, as well as to discover what we have in common. This year's project (Fall 2000-Spring 2001) theme is "Our Mothers." We hope to continue the project, while changing themes at least once each year. Next year's project is Travel "Art." If you are interested in submitting an item and essay to this project, or in directing another project, please contact Deb Simpson, 716-372-1661, ext. 5545. Webmaster: Kara Cayton
