Michael Martel has been appointed as head men’s soccer coach to JCC’s Cattaraugus County Campus. Starting a team from scratch is a daunting task but one that he has done before. “I feel that the Southern Tier is rich with soccer players who can benefit from a program on the Olean Campus,” he said.
Prior to accepting the Jaguar’s head coach position, Martel coached the Hinsdale Central School Girls Varsity Team for seven years and currently teaches high school science and math for Hinsdale.
A 1994 graduate of St. Bonaventure University, Martel earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics with minors in physics and education. In 1999, he earned his master’s in education from St. Bonaventure.
