Circulation Policies

Patrons are required to present a valid library card in order to check out library materials.

The library card for current JCC students, faculty and staff is the JCC FSA card. Individuals not affiliated with the college may obtain a courtesy library card if they are residents of the college's service area and over 18 years of age. If you have questions about obtaining a library card call the Cattaraugus Campus Library's Circulation Desk (716/376-7517).

Library materials designated as circulating can be borrowed from the Cattaraugus Campus Library Circulation Desk located near the entrance gates of the library. Library patrons must present a valid library card in order to check out all library materials, including in-library-use items.

During normal library hours, library materials can be returned directly to the Cattaraugus Campus Library Cirulation Desk.

Loan policies for JCC students and courtesy card holders are as follows:

 
Books:
  • Two-week circulation period.
  • Limit of six.
  • May be renewed once unless items are requested by other patrons or the book has a 14-day limit.
Periodicals: 
  • One-week circulation period.
  • Limit of three.
  • The latest issues and bound editions do not circulate.
  • No renewals.
Pamphlets:
  • Three-day circulation period.
  • Limit of three.
  • No renewals.
Videotapes, DVDs, CDs:
  • Seven-day circulation period.
  • There is a preview room available for viewing videotapes or DVDs or listen to CDs.
