Services for Students
  • One-to-one tutoring (complementary to class instruction) in most academic subjects
  • Group tutoring on request
  • Call-in tutoring (papers may be submitted in advance)
  • Individualized assistance with reading, writing, and study skills
  • Computer lab with Internet, Microsoft Office XP, and course-related software
  • Assistive technologies  (Disability Support Services)
  • Current textbooks (if supplied by faculty)
  • Library of videocassettes, previous textbooks, and reference books
  • Workshops on study skills topics
  • Assessment of learning styles and learning difficulties (test analyses)
  • Study groups as requested
Services for Faculty
  • In-class presentations on learning center services and/or study skills topics
  • Review sessions on selected topics as requested by the instructor
  • Consultation regarding students with learning difficulties
  • Space for accommodated testing
How Can You Help Us?
  • Refer students who are in need of academic assistance
  • Place on reserve in the learning center materials that will help students be successful in your class (i.e. study guides, previous tests, sample papers)
  • Obtain current textbooks for the learning center
  • Recommend students for tutoring positions
  • Let us know if there are new services we could provide to help your students be successful
  • If we are administering an exam for you please:
      -put your name on the test
      -include information about time limits and use of outside materials
      -pick tests up from the LAC (tests will be sent to off-campus instructors)
