About my career:
My career is challenging. I must take an idea and turn it into a working IT tool that my company can use to increase productivity, profits, or both. I deal with e-commerce solutions and projects most of the time. Store Locators, B2B invoice tracking etc. are also things I deal with.  The skills I need for this job are both IT and business related. On the IT side, J2EE(java) Adobe CS2 suite and Websphere are all programs I must be proficient with. On the business side, marketing, people skills and leadership abilities are essential.  My first project was the introduction of a whole new Company Intranet site. Integrated into this project, was the installation of internet Kiosks that the employees could use on their break times. I had to get many different people from myriad departments to work together. In the end, when the project is done, it is very rewarding. I have created tools my company will use for years to come.

My advice

If this is a field you are interested in, bone up on your programming and writing skills. You must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and project members
