About my career:
I’m getting paid to do what I enjoy.  I like being able to setup and install the latest gear and technology.  My co-workers are very talented and I get to learn new things from them all the time.  Everyday is different, which makes it much easier to get up and go to work in the morning.  To excel in this field, you have to be friendly, knowledgeable, and able to adapt to change.  It can be rewarding when you revive someone’s computer or network and see the smile on their face when you get them back up and running.

My advice

Get experience anyway you can.  Internships are great, if you can get one, while still in school.  Microsoft and Comptia certifications are also important.  Certifications and a little bit of experience can mean getting the job over someone else; possibly even over someone with a higher degree.
