On June 7th Natasha Trethewey was appointed Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry by the United States Librarian of Congress (http://www.loc.gov/rr/program/bib/trethewey/) Trethewey is the author of four books of poetry: Domestic Work, Bellocq’s Ophelia, Native Guard for which she won the 2007 Pulitzer Prize in poetry, and Thrall to be published in September of this year. She is the daughter of Canadian poet Eric Trethewey and Gwendolyn Ann Turnbough, an African American social worker.
