Lea Anne Cali, '74After 39 years of dedication to serving youth throughout the region, Lea Anne Cali, '74, retired from New Directions Youth and Family Services on April 1, 2016 as the organization's Health Services Director.

During her tenure as Health Services Director, Cali  supervised nursing and medical services for staff and children at the organization's many campuses. She led a team that helps youth and families in crisis by providing preventive and community-based programs, residential campuses, educational services, group homes, traditional and therapeutic foster care, adoption and post-adoption services. She spent her first two decades working as the organization's nurse on staff for its residential program, then for the foster care program in group homes. 

In a recent article announcing her retirement, Cali told The Post-Journal, "I started [at New Directions] part-time a couple of nights a week, in 1977, while I was still working at other places. In 1978, I went to full time, so I've worked at New Directions pretty much for most of my career. I knew pretty quickly that I had found what I wanted to be doing. I have absolutely loved it here."
