Jeanette Carlson, Class of 1983, was recently honored with the John D. Hamilton Community Service Award by the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation!

Jeanette has been a lifelong resident of Jamestown and began her community service as a sixth-grader in 1949, in charge of a student effort to put together care packages for World War II soldiers. She has served on the Board of Directors at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, the Robert H. Jackson Center, CODE Inc., the Jamestown Kiwanis Wives Club, and the Eastside YMCA. She spent 22 years with the First Presbyterian Church. In 2002, she was recognized as the United Way's Volunteer of the Year for her work with children at the Eastside YMCA.
