Sierra Rose, Class of 2014, has been named a recipient of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence! Sierra was one of 256 students honored with the award, which recognizes students for their integration of academic excellence with other aspects of their lives, which may include leadership, campus involvement, athletics, career achievement, community service or creative and performing arts.

Sierra graduated with high honors in December 2014 from our Cattaraugus County Campus with an associate's degree in criminal justice. During her tenure at JCC, Sierra was named to the 2015 Phi Theta Kappa All-New York second team. She was co-president of JCC's Phi Theta Kappa chapter and served as a peer mentor and student tutor. She transferred to the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, where she plans to pursue a career as a New York State trooper.
