Guidance counselors often serve as the high school’s main contact person, and are essential in coordinating the College Connections program at Jamestown Community College. Guidance counselor responsibilities include:

Course Selection

Guidance counselors work with their schools to determine course offerings. These course offering are communicated to College Connections at the end of the semester prior to registration.

Placement Testing

Guidance counselors work with JCC to offer the online Accuplacer college placement test at the high school.

Course Registration

Guidance counselors work with JCC to register students for courses.

Course Withdrawals

Guidance counselors are familiar with the JCC withdrawal deadlines and collect withdrawal forms which are processed by the College Connections program.
