I have the primary responsibility of administering the nursing program at JCC on both the Jamestown and the Cattaraugus County campuses. If you are considering or have already been admitted to the nursing program, you can be assured that you will have a quality educational experience. Students who graduate from the JCC nursing program with an A.A.S have the ability to take the National Licensure examination to become registered nurses.

I earned my B.S. and M.S. at Daemen College, after practicing for many years as a maternity, nursery, and labor and delivery nurse at WCA Hospital in Jamestown, where I currently hold per diem status. I have held various staff nursing positions in hospital and long term care settings, as well as administrative titles. My specialties are maternal newborn nursing, pediatrics, and geriatrics. I am a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.

I have been a nurse for sixteen years, and joined the faculty at Jamestown Community College in 2011. I have worked in medical surgical nursing, surgical nursing, and staff education. A large part of my career has focused on surgical nursing, where I worked in the operating room, recovery room, performed endoscopies, and acted as a change nurse. While working in surgical nursing I obtained, and still maintain, my CNOR certification (certified nurse operating room).

I have enjoyed being a registered nurse for over 38 years. I have always enjoyed teaching staff and patients, so it was a natural transition when I joined the faculty of JCC in 2009. My goal at JCC is to "make it real" for the students when they are working and learning in the simulation labs.

I have practiced nursing in a variety of areas during my career at WCA: cardiac step-down, ICU/CCU, emergency department, orthopedics, adult and adolescent mental health, and medical rehabilitation.
