Music at Scharmann Theatre

Scharmann Theatre is home to student, faculty, and professional music performances each semester. Many performances are free and open to the public. For others, tickets may be purchased for a small amount.

Jazz Fest 2017

When: 7 p.m. April 21
Admission: $4 general public, $3 students and senior citizens, $2 FSA members
Featuring J.J. Swing, an award-winning band from the Buffalo area. The group's repertoire encompasses jazz, pop, R&B, and other styles, and includes many popular numbers.

JCC Music Department Faculty Recital

When: 2 p.m. April 23
Admission: Free and open to the public
The JCC music faculty perform a variety of music, from classical to Broadway and everywhere in between. 

JCC Music Department Student Recital

When: 2 p.m. April 30
Admission: Free and open to the public
JCC's best student musicians perform a variety of numbers, from classical to Broadway. 

Recital featuring virtuoso classical saxophonist Andy Wen

When: 7 p.m. May 7
Admission: Free and open to the public
Featuring 20th and 21st century works.

Spring Concert featuring the JCC Concert Choir, Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble, with special guest saxophonist Andy Wen

When: 7 p.m. May 9
Admission: $4 general public, $3 students and senior citizens, $2 FSA members
With the Concert Band, Dr. Wen will give the New York premiere of "Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Wind Ensemble" by JCC's Coordinator of Music Neil Flory.

Spring Jam

When: 7 p.m. May 11
Admission: $4 general public, $3 students and senior citizens, $2 FSA members
Featuring JCC's rock ensembles.
